Golden Drip Cake

Ingredients:

  • (3) 6" vanilla cakes - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

  • Double batch vanilla American buttercream frosting - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

  • Gold/white sprinkle mix

  • Edible gold paint

  • Cake comb

  • White candy melts

  • Heavy cream

  • Plastic squeeze bottle

Cake Assembly Directions:

  • Step 1: Level cakes with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife

  • Step 2: Spread frosting on center of cake board

  • Step 3: Place 1st layer on top of cake board

  • Step 4: Cover layer with frosting

  • Step 5: Place 2nd layer on top

  • Step 6: Cover layer with frosting

  • Step 7: Place 3rd layer upside down on top of cake

  • Step 8: Cover entire cake with frosting

  • Step 9: Smooth out frosting on sides and top

  • Step 10: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

  • Step 11: Remove from fridge and cover with a 2nd layer of frosting and smooth

  • Step 12: Using a cake comb, go around the sides of cake

  • Step 13: Place cake in fridge for another 20 minutes

  • Step 14: While cooling, mix white candy melts + heavy cream and melt in microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Once melted and cooled put in squeeze bottle

  • Step 15: With the squeeze bottle, drip around outside of cake.

  • Step 16: Pipe dollups in a circle around the top

  • Step 17: Add sprinkles to top of dollups
