Vanilla American Buttercream

Ingredients:

  • 4 sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature

  • 7 cups powdered sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy cream

** MAKES ENOUGH TO FROST A 3 LAYER 6" CAKE 

Directions:

  • Step 1: In bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, add powdered sugar & mix for 1 minute

  • Step 2: Add in butter, mix on lowest speed until combined

  • Step 3: Add in heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency

  • Step 4: Add in vanilla and salt

** Make sure to taste frosting, if too sweet add more salt!
