Oreo Drip Cake

Ingredients:

Simple Syrup Directions:

  • Step 1: Add sugar to medium sauce pan

  • Step 2: Pour in 1 cup of water and whisk

  • Step 3: Bring mixture to a boil

  • Step 4: Take off heat and let cool for 5 minutes

  • Step 5: Pour into squeeze bottle

Cake Assembly Directions:

  • Step 1: Level all 4 cakes with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife

  • Step 2: Spread chocolate frosting at the center of cake board

  • Step 3: Place 1st layer of cake down on board

  • Step 4: Put 2 scoops of frosting on top of cake and smooth

  • Step 5: Repeat steps for the next 2 layers

  • Step 6: Place 4th layer on upside down 

  • Step 7: Pile frosting on top of cake and completely cover with a crumb coat

  • Step 8: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

  • Step 9: Remove from fridge and cover with a 2nd coat of frosting

  • Step 10: Place in fridge for another 20 minutes

  • Step 11: Remove from fridge and with a squeeze bottle pour ganache drips down the sides and smooth across the top

  • Step 12: Place broken Oreo cookies around bottom of cake

  • Step 13: In a piping bag, put white frosting and chocolate frosting together

  • Step 14: Pipe dollops of frosting on top of cake

  • Step 15: Place full sized Oreos around top of cake in between dollops
