Ice Cream Scoop Cake

Ingredients:
-
(2) 6 inch vanilla cakes - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

(2) Batches of vanilla American buttercream (dyed pink, brown, natural) - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

(6) Cut Waffle ice cream cones
Cake Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Level all cakes with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife

Step 2: Spread frosting at center of cake board

Step 3: Place down 1st cake layer

Pipe frosting on top of layer

Place down 2nd cake layer
-
Pipe frosting on top of layer

Cover entire cake with frosting

Place in fridge for 20 minutes

On a separate sheet, use an ice cream scoop to scoop out 3 of each color of frosting, place in fridge to harden (about 20 minutes)

Remove cake from fridge and put on a 2nd coat of frosting

Smooth out with a bench scraper
-
Take waffle cones and cut in half
-
Spread frosting on top half of cone, then cover with sprinkles

Place all 6 cones around the cake

Remove frosting "ice cream" scoops from fridge and place on top of cones, separating by color
-
Place 2nd frosting scoop on top of 1st one.
