Halloween Frankenstein Cake

Ingredients:

Cake Assembly Directions:

  • Step 1: Level cakes with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife

  • Step 2: Spread orange buttercream on center of cake board

  • Step 3:  Place 1st layer of 8 inch chocolate cake on board

  • Step 4: Spread orange buttercream on top of cake

  • Step 5: Repeat 8 inch cake/frosting process for the next layer

  • Step 6: Place the 3rd 8 inch cake layer upside down

  • Step 7: Pile orange buttercream on top of cake and cover entire cake with a crumb coat 

  • Step 8: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

  • Step 9: Remove from fridge and cover entire cake with another coat of orange buttercream

  • Step 10: Place in fridge for another 20 minutes

  • Step 11: Remove from fridge and with a squeeze bottle drip ganache around sides of cake and spread across top

  • Step 12: Take 6 straws and place around center of cake for support

  • Step 13: For 2nd tier, spread green frosting on center of new cake board

  • Step 14: Place down 1st 6 inch layer of cake

  • Step 15: Frost top of layer with green buttercream

  • Step 16: Repeat 6 inch cake/frosting process for the next layer

  • Step 17: Place the 3rd 6 inch cake layer upside down

  • Step 18: Pile green buttercream on top of cake and cover entire cake with a crumb coat 

  • Step 19: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

  • Step 20: Remove from fridge and cover entire cake with another coat of orange buttercream

  • Step 21: With a  squeeze bottle drip ganache around sides of cake and spread across top 

  • Step 22: Cut out white/black fondant for eyes and place on cake

  • Step 23: Cut out black fondant scar and place on cake

  • Step 24: Cut out black fondant nose/mouth and place on cake

  • Step 25: Place green tier on top of orange tier
