Halloween Broken Glass Cake

Ingredients:
-
4 red velvet cakes - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

Cream cheese frosting - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

White chocolate ganache - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE (just add red food coloring!)
Broken Glass Directions:

Step 1: Pour sugar into a medium sauce pan
-
Step 2: Add water and bring to a boil (It's ready when there's a tiny bit of carmelization)

Step 3: Place parchment paper over a flat pan

Step 4: Pour sugar/water mixture over parchment and make sure all parts are covered

Step 5: Let sit 1 hour

Step 6: Break into shards
Cake Assembly Directions:

Step 1: Level off top of cakes with "cake leveler" or serrated knife

Step 2: Spread cream cheese frosting on center of cake board

Step 3: Place down layer #1 on cake board

Step 4: Cover top of layer with frosting

Step 5: Repeat this cake/frosting process for 2 more layers

Step 6: Place 4th layer upside down

Step 7: Pile frosting on top of cake and cover entire cake with a crumb coat

Step 8: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

Step 9: Remove from fridge and cover with 2nd coat of frosting

Step 10: Place in fridge for another 20 minutes

Step 11: Remove from fridge and with a squeeze bottle drip red ganache around sides of cake

Step 12: Spread ganache on top as well

Step 13: Place edible glass shards on top of cake

Step 14: Squeeze red ganache onto glass shards at top of cake
