Gravity Defying Cereal Cake

Ingredients:

  • (1) Vanilla cake baked in 8" bowl - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE

  • Double batch vanilla American Buttercream - CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE 

  • Green, white, orange fondant

  • (1) Wood skewer

  • (1) Mini empty milk carton

  • (1) Box Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal

  • Cotton Balls

  • Acetate (optional - for smoothing)

Cake Assembly Directions:​

  • Step 1: Level cake into 3 even layers with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife

  • Step 2: Spread frosting at center of cake board

  • Step 3: Place down 1st cake layer

  • Step 4: Cover layer with frosting

  • Step 5: Sprinkle Cinnamon Toast Crunch all over the layer

  • Step 6: Repeat steps for 2nd with frosting and CTC Cereal

  • Step 7: Place down the final smaller "round" layer on top

  • Step 8: Cover entire cake with white buttercream

  • Step 9: Smooth out buttercream with acetate

  • Step 10: Place in fridge for 20 minutes

  • Step 11: Roll out blue fondant, large enough to cover cake

  • Step 12: Place fondant over cake and smooth out to remove air bubbles

  • Step 13: Flip entire cake over so the bottom is now the top

  • Step 14: Scoop out a small portion of cake with a spoon

  • Step 15: Cover the top with white

  • Step 16: Place wooden skewer in center of cake (leaning to the side)

  • Step 17: Cover top of cake with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal

  • Step 18: Roll out white fondant to make splash of milk

  • Step 19: Place splash of milk around base of skewer

  • Step 20: Roll out white fondant and cover skewer completely

  • Step 21: Stuff milk carton with cotton balls

  • Step 22: Place milk carton upside down on top of skewer
