Cotton Candy Cake

Ingredients
  • (3) 6" chocolate cakes, CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE
  • Vanilla American buttercream frosting, CLICK HERE FOR RECIPE
  • Pink food coloring
Cake Assembly Directions
  • Level cakes with a "cake leveler" or serrated knife
  • Step 2: Spread white buttercream on center of cake board
  • Step 3: Place layer of cake on top of cake board
  • Step 4: Pipe frosting around top (mixture of pink and white)
  • Step 5: Place 2nd layer of cake on top
  • Step 6: Pipe frosting around top (mixture of pink and white)
  • Step 7: Place 3rd layer of cake on top
  • Step 8: Cover entire cake with white frosting
  • Step 9: Place in fridge for 20 minutes
  • Step 10: Remove from fridge and cover with white frosting
  • Step 11: Now pipe a ring of pink frosting at the bottom of cake
  • Step 12: Pipe white above pink and repeat the process
  • Step 13: With a cake scraper, smooth out the sides
  • Step 14: Repeat the smoothing process until stripes look clean
  • Step 15: Take cotton candy and make a pile on top
