Chocolate American
Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:

4 sticks unsalted butter (2 cups), room temperature

8 cups powdered sugar

1-1/2 cups cocoa powder
-
4 - 8 tablespoons heavy cream (depends on preferred thickness)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Pinch of salt
** MAKES ENOUGH TO FROST A 3 LAYER 6" CAKE
Directions:

Step 1: Add cocoa powder to stand mixer
-
Step 2: Add powdered sugar to stand mixer

Step 3: Mix using a paddle attachment until fully combined (about 1 minute)

Step 4: Add all butter and mix on the lowest speed until dough forms

Step 5: Add heavy cream 1 tbsp at a time until reaches desired consistency (for light and fluffy add more than 4 tbsp)

Step 6: Add vanilla extract

Step 7: Add pinch of salt
** Make sure to taste buttercream! If too sweet, add more salt.
